ALEX & LEE

Gypsy Kings Alex Mate and Lee Brooks came together in the late 1970's to form a work partnership that resulted in some of the most innovative jewelry of all time. Their collaborations create a narrative of fantasy and surrealism by combining elements to the likes of cave crystals and vintage military cords. Emphasizing on color and texture, each handmade masterpiece is a labyrinth of sinuous layers which alternate between minerals and fibers. If you're seeking out one of these rare creations, expect to pay anywhere between $1,000 to $5,000.

STEAMPUNK

The steampunk subculture originated in the late 1980's as a product of science fiction with an industrial twist. Its name is derived from a time during which the world was still steam powered. Heavily influenced by the Victorian era, steampunk jewelry is technical, yet elegant.

SOLANGE AZAGURY-PARTRIDGE

In 1987, Solange Azagury-Partridge decided to design her own engagement ring - a raw diamond set in a simple gold band. Having had no prior experience, Solange was driven toward jewelry design by the endless numbers of admirers that her ring attracted. Establishing her company in 1990, Solange opened her first shop in 1995. Releasing collection after collection, overtime she became recognized as high-profile designer. Here are a few of her rings that I absolutely adore. By clicking on the captions, you will be redirected to their home on Solange Azagury-Partridge's site. Enjoy!

DOOZY OF A DRUZY

Druzy has become quite a popular commodity in recent jewelry trends. Tiny, bright crystals coating these gems make them appear as if they have been dipped in sugar. This unique look is very distinguishable and highly sought-after. The druzy effect is achieved by rising minerals to the surface of a stone (like quarts or agate) via water. Once the water evaporates, crystallization of the minerals occurs. Often times, designers will dye the crystals or coat them with a metallic or iridescent finish. Elegant and high-fashion, druzy is a personal favorite and a must-have!
